It was my lifelong interest in knitting that led me by the hand into the world of fiber, especially to silk. I dreamed of creating yarns which reflect the color philosophy that has made my handpainted silk tops unique.

Most of these yarns are silk or silk blends. They cover a range of weights that are suitable for weaving, hand and machine knitting, crocheting, embellishment and embroidery.

In the handspun silk section, I have worked out an approximation of weaving yarn size by determining the yards per pound and comparing to a standard size chart. Since handspun does not always fall conveniently into a specific range, I've given the closest size.

KID MOHAIR//SILK

80% kid mohair, 20% silk. Lustrous, baby soft fingering weight that already has a dainty halo which will bloom even more with handling.

This matte finish 100% silk yarn has a very different feel to it. Rough textured, it has the crunchy hand of raw silk.

SILK and KID MOHAIR Natural amber tussah and soft kid mohair in light sport weight. Beautiful luster and halo which will increase with handling. Three skeins total appx. 364 yards and weigh appx 4.9 oz. or 142 g. $40.00

SILK and CAMEL Natural amber color tussah silk and natural honey camel down combined 50/50 in two-ply. Two skeins weigh approximately 148 g and measure approximately 518 yards. $64.00

SNUGGLES Three strands make up this soft yarn: one strand of handspun merino wool in dusky shades of taupe, wine and sage combined with a strand of 60/2 silk in multiple pastel colors and a strand of bright cinnamon colored mylar. One skein 24g 162 yds. $15.00

BANDLEADER The three strands that make up this yarn are one rainbow- dyed handspun merino, one 20/2 white silk and one strand bright silver metallic. I think the textured metallic is just a tad scratchy so I would not recommend that you use it against the skin. One skein 40g 152 yds $11.00
